Pol RogerBlanc de Blancs 2007Full yellow-green. Creamy, pure, gentle, serene aromatic profile: fresh woodland breezes. Elegant, fresh and keen-edged on the palate, but not as intransigently difficult as some 1996s can be. Blanc de Blancs 1998Green-gold in colour. Clean, appetising, sappy scents. On the palate, vivid, fresh and foamy, with rounded acidity and a touch of nuttiness behind. Chardonnay Réserve 1996Pale straw yellow; no visible evolution as yet. A gentle seething mousse. Blanc de Blancs 1995Green-gold. Powdery, pure aromatic profile, with a touch of crème anglaise to add charm. Blanc de Blancs 1993Glowing green gold. Ivy-leaf finesse, with some lactic fullness. Not obvious, but classy. On the palate, poised, fresh and elegant, with lots of woodland sappiness. Blanc de Blancs 1990Bright green-gold. Initially the wine smells of light cream and chalk dust, with a generally mellow, open warmth. Blanc de Blancs 1988Full yellow-gold, with scented buttery purity: almost a mini-Corton Charlemagne. Blanc de Blancs 1986Green-gold in colour. Complex, sweet, still-fresh scents: tangerine fruit and bread dough. Just a tickle of mousse now. Pol Roger 1914Light Egyptian gold in colour. Still some tiny bubbles, no bigger than grains of salt. |
