Motte, LaSauvignon Blanc 2007This 13.5% Sauvignon is sourced from organic vineyards in South Africa's Walker Bay. It's pale, almost silvery in colour, with fresh, clean, leafy scents and a touch of aromatic sweetness, too. Shiraz-Viognier 2005Dark black-red in colour, with sleek blackcurrant scents. I couldn't detect the 9% Viognier, though the wine was warmer and fleshier than the straight La Motte Syrah. Shiraz 2005Dark black-red colours, and attractive scents of sweet cassis, smoothed with oak. On the palate, it was pure, seamless and elegant, with bright acidity (natural or not) and 14% alcohol. Millennium 2004Millennium is a Bordeaux blend of Cabernet, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec; this vintage contains 14.5% alcohol. |
