I urge those who might have been following the debate in the ‘Questions of Style’ post to revisit it since David Schildkecht (fellow World of Fine Wine columnist and distinguished reviewer and critic for The Wine Advocate) has made some very useful and telling points in response to the post. Further contributions to this debate are welcome.
Other bits of housekeeping: apologies to those who have recently sent me messages via the site. Yes, I have them all and will reply before long, but a deal of travel at present combined with a swarm of work commitments is giving me less administrative time than I’d like.
A call across the Tasman: I will be briefly in Wellington next week, accompanying the Vice Chancellor of Adelaide University for an alumni event (a cocktail reception, no less) at Parliament Buildings on the 8th. I also hope to get to the Hot Red Hawkes Bay tasting at the Duxton Hotel that afternoon. I’m afraid anyone coming to the alumni event will have to steel themselves to listen to even more of AJ on terroir – but only 10 minutes, I promise.
Otherwise ... maybe see you at Pinot Noir 2010? I’ll be there next February, taking part in a few bits and pieces: details at http://www.pinotnoir2010.co.nz/Pinot-Noir-2010/Programme.
