Light and brick-red in the glass, with rapidly evolving aromas of cream and sweet, almost tawny-port-like fruit (this wine was given 24 months in American oak). Gentle, soft, ripe and open in the mouth, with sweet, succulent flavours which hold well. Delicious though now fully mature, and without the breed and purity of more recent vintages of Mas La Plana. (This wine was labelled 'Gran Coronas' back in 1981.)
