La Tâche 2003

Relatively pale in colour, with warm, rich, settled and comfortable aromas, smooth and voluminous, like a coat. The fruits (cherry, blackberry, raspberry) have great charm, ripeness and moist presence. Spice-studded, too: anis slipped under the skin of the fruits, like a truffled chicken. Round and seamless on the palate, despite a palpable tannic charge, with fine, perfumed length. There is almost something a little vegetal in the central palate, though, and some of the expected detail of the wine remains inscrutable at this stage. Give it time.
