Dark garnet; beginning to turn brick-red at the meniscus. Pure, elegant, tapered aromas: the classical cedar and pure currant of Médoc Cabernet, but expressed with great restraint and subtlety. Graceful; almost ethereal. On the palate, perfect equipoise between freshness and ripeness; great refinement. No leafiness; riper than 2002. Very decidedly a left-bank style; masterful understatement, intricacy and order. Accessible now, but lots of time still to travel.
