Quite a lot of people are asking me this, so it gives me a chance to set the record straight. No, it doesn't contain substantial revisions and updates. There are some silly errors which have been corrected, plus a few minor adjustments in star ratings, and a new cover -- but that's it. The publishers did want to put 'New Edition' on the cover but I made it clear that this would be totally unjustified. All of that said, the book is now beginning to need revision (as those that use it regularly will know).

I would love to produce a completely revised and much expanded edition. The existing book was the result of about 18 months' very hard work; I would like to take at least three years over the next one. This, though, would require major investment from the publisher as well as the author, and to date we have not had the necessary discussions. Whatever happens, I hope to get going on a new book soon; it has been almost three years since the last one (Peat Smoke and Spirit) and I have an itchy pen!
