The most aromatically flamboyant of the vertical range of La Mondotte wines tasted in December `03: sweetly orchestral, with notes of incense, resin, chocolate and kirsch. Great purity, grandeur and aromatic power in the mouth, too, the sweeter flavours of the opening palate tailing away towards a darker, moodier spectrum of flavours at the end in which the backbone of the wine becomes apparent. Dense and complete. A wine with several personalities; what's telling is the harmony with which they are reconciled.
